Satellite Course - Advanced Team Physician Course
Svolvær, Lofoten : June 21 - June 24, 2008
The Advanced Team Physician Course was organized by the Oslo Sports Trauma Center in partnership with the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and the International Society for Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) as a satellite course prior to the 2nd World Congress on Sports Injury Prevention.
The course took place at Svinøya rorbuer in Svolvær, Lofoten from June 21 through June 24, 2008. Svinøya rorbuer are situated on a tiny fishing hamlet on an island in Svolvær – combining tradition and atmosphere with all modern conveniences.

75 participants enjoyed a team physician course geared towards the practical issues of working with high-level athletes in a team sports setting: "We will learn from the best!" The highly motivated group were teaught how to prevent injuries in their daily work as a team physician and how to design surveillance systems for athletes’ injuries.
